The Four Eastern Mammores

The four Eastern Mammores are a less popular than their neighbours. This is purely because the name “Ring of Steall” sounds more dramatic and is nothing to do with the quality or challenge of the day. These four Munros offer a testing but rewarding day out in their own right.

We’ll start in Kinlochleven and ascend steadily, to Coire an Lochain. There are excellent views across Loch Eilde Mor and back towards Loch Leven but the best view is of Sgurr Eilde Mor across the Lochain. From here, it’s a short (but steep) haul up to our first summit of the day - Sgurr Eilde Mor. We return via the same route to the lochain before crossing Coire a’Bhinnein to reach the foot of Binnein Beag. Binnein Beag reminds me of Stob Ban next to the Grey Corries.
