The Ben Alder Munros

Ben Alder is an incredible mountain from all angles so the expansive, flat plateau of the summit is a surprise.

Day 1

We'll meet in Dalwhinnie on Friday evening to walk the 15km into our camp for the night. This is a relatively flat walk along a good track.

Day 2

We'll head to Culra Bothy (whose rebuild should be underway!) and climb directly up to Carn Dearg, the first summit of the day. We'll then continue along the high ground to Geal Charn, Aonach Beag and Beinn Eibhinn before dropping down to the Bealach between these hills and Ben Alder. This is where you'll need to dig deep for the climb up to Ben Alder on tired legs. From the top, we'll "hop" over to Beinn Bheoil and return to camp.
