About the event
The Beinn Dearg Group are an incredible set of mountains with stunning views of An Teallach and Assynt.Â
The route is varied and starts in Inverlael Forest before the route following the River Lael opens out into classic Scottish mountain terrain. Once we reach the Bealach an Locaine Uaine, we'll follow a wall to the summit of Beinn Dearg, the largest hill on this walk. After Beinn Dearg, there is a similar out and back to the more shapely and rocky summit of Cona' Mheall. We return to the bealach for a final time before the short ascent to Meall nan Ceapraichean. On the map the route between this hill and our final hill (Eididh nan Clach Geala) looks quite quick but the ground is very rough and this will be the most challenging section of the day. You're rewarded with fantastic view of Assynt and the coast making it worthwhile! Rough Route Stats
Distance: 27km
Ascent: 1600m
We've graded this adventure as red but it's verging on black due to the physical effort required to complete this round in a day. It is a long day mostly on good footing but there are karge sections of boulderfield that require care and effort.
