Mountain Navigation Skills

Navigation is by far the most liberating skill you can learn. The world really becomes your oyster and Scotland's mountains become your playground.

Build on your existing skills by joining us for a 6 hour workshop designed to help you learn to navigate away from paths.

This one day course covers the more advanced skills required to get out and exploring Scotland's mountains. These include compass work, recognising/correcting navigational errors, identifying/avoiding hazardous ground and estimating time/distance.

This course is 6 hours long and will be based outdoors. Although distances covered aren't far you will need to be comfortable being on your feet all day and carrying everything you need for the day. This course will be on rougher ground than the essential skills course so sturdy footwear is essential.
