About the event
Foinaven falls short of Munro classification by centimetres. Many people joke that it may well be promoted to become a Munro in years to come so do this after compleating a Munro round "just in case". Humourous and romantic as an ever changing list sounds, it is pretty unrealistic given the incredible technology that is used to survey the mountains today. They might get all the fame and social media attention but Munro classification is not a gold standard for hillwalking! Foinaven may be a Corbett but it's a spectacular chunk of rock with fine ridges and spectacular views.
Starting from Loch Stack, we will traverse this incredible mountain over the tops to Ganu Mor, the highest point of Foinaven. We'll drop down to the road ending in a different location to our starting point and will organise vehicle shuttling in the morning.
