About the event
The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance scheme aimed at developing your confidence navigating in the countryside allowing you to enjoy yourself safely and independently.
The Bronze Navigator Award covers all the basics of map reading and navigation. It is suitable for those with no prior navigation knowledge or experience. That said, it's also a great starting point for those who know a little or for those who want to recap and refresh their skills. Although this is primarily a navigation award, it also covers other aspects such as responsible access and emergency procedures in remote places.
The course involves 12hours of tutor contact time and the maximum group size per tutor is 8 to ensure that you get the best learning experience possible. As well as holding the NNAS Tutor Award, all of our tutors are experienced Mountain Leaders and have qualifications and backgrounds in education so you can be confident that you'll receive the very best tuition.
The course fee includes the NNAS registration fee and digital certificate. If you would like a pin badge and printed certificate then this can be arranged after booking.
You'll learn everything you need to get you started and can view the full Bronze Syllabus here.
